Charlie's room
On the front of the house, above the door, is a tiny, bright, 6-walled "sewing room".
There is no closet and the three windows on the front form a little bump-out. At around 10 ft by 10 ft, it's a very small bedroom, but ended up being just the right size for Charlie.
When we closed on the house, the room was painted bright green and bright orange and housed a gigantic desk. I'm not even sure how it's possible that a 10x10 room with four windows can be gloomy, and yet:
There are some problems in the room. The floor sags where it goes over the front porch and the plaster ceiling has been covered in a popcorn effect, which is cracking.
Until the porch is rebuilt, we cannot fix the structural problems with the room. But, instead of letting Charlie wait for his room until that is done, I decided to paint the room and use it as is.
I picked up a gallon of "oops" paint from Lowes. A thorough clean out, a good scrubbing, and a few coats of paint later:
I love how light and bright and fresh the paint made this room. After I took this picture, I ended up going over all the trim with a fresh coat of paint.
